Paul Michael Downey was first
introduced to glassblowing as a student at the College of Idaho (now Albertson
College) where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree. He has also had
additional studies at the Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina.
Downey has been living in the Wood River Valley of central Idaho since 1989, where he had been working with Craig Zweifel at Zweifel Art Glass.
Paul's own work has been shown throughout the western United States and is noted for its vibrant colors and abstract patterns. It is all traditionally free blown, solely by Paul, without the aid of molds. No two pieces are exactly alike!
